North East Screen, in collaboration with the University of Sunderland, Atticus Education and Pinewood Group, are pleased to present a series of online seminars with Oscar winning producer David Puttnam.
These seminars will cover a range of topics surrounding the screen industry and will take place over a four-week period from the end of October, through to November.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in film to hear from a living legend on several different aspects of the screen industry. You won’t want to miss these events.
The first seminar, The Power of On-Screen Identity, starts with an exploration of ‘the self’ and discusses the multiplicity of influences that lie behind the making of any film. This will take place on the 26th of October. You can learn more about this event and sign up via this link.
The second seminar will take place on the 2nd of November. Puttnam will be discussing the importance of becoming ‘creatively resilient’ as an artist and as a filmmaker with Director Jamie Childs (The Sandman, Willow, His Dark Materials). The third seminar in this series centres on Creative Partnerships and takes place on the 9th of November. In this session, David, and Production Designer Jim Clay (House of Dragon, Belfast, Death on the Nile), will look at ‘creative relationships’ and their importance in career development. For the final session in this series, David will be looking forward to the future of filmmaking regarding the recent changes in content distribution.
