The North East offers a growing screen sector, with opportunities to build new partnerships, work with regional talent and suppliers, and develop your business as part of the region’s screen industry.
If you’re considering establishing a base in the North East, we can work with you to understand your plans and provide a tailored package of relocation support. This may include:
- Introductions to local investment and business teams, who can provide advice and support around establishing your business in the region
- Meetings with relevant North East Screen teams, including our Film Office, Skills team and Production Fund
- A guided introduction to the region’s studio, production and wider screen infrastructure
- Business-to-business introductions and connections with the regional screen supply chain
- Introductions to relevant local talent and industry networks
Establishing a North East base
If your company is headquartered elsewhere in the UK and is establishing a new North East base, North East Screen has a process for recognising businesses as established within the region.
This looks beyond having a North East address and considers the company’s meaningful and ongoing presence and activity in the region.
As part of the process, we’ll meet with you to understand your plans for the North East, visit your regional base and discuss the information we need to demonstrate your local presence and activity. We’ll also agree how the development of your North East operation will be reviewed over time.
Once your business is established and has completed this process, you may be eligible to access relevant North East Screen funding and opportunities, subject to the individual eligibility criteria.
