Line Producer

My first job in the Television industry was on Byker Grove and all these years later very lucky to still be working the industry in the North East.  I’m currently stepping up from Production Manager to Line Producer on the next production.  I’m looking forward to being part of the WFTV and being involved in events and networking and hopefully being able to contribute.

Casting Director

I’m a Casting Director based in the North East of England, working across many different genres from comedy to psychological drama for Film and Television. I’ve recently been working with Hat Trick Productions, casting their new comedy TV Series “Smoggie Queens” for the BBC. I’m delighted to have been selected to receive the WFTV Membership from NE Screen. The opportunity to develop a wider network across the UK is invaluable as a freelancer.  I’m looking forward to attending the WFTV networking events and online workshops from leading industry professionals

I am a North East based Production Manager with over two decades of experience in the film and television industry. My career spans a wide range of projects, from independent low-budget features to high-profile, box office successes, and everything in between!

I am absolutely thrilled to receive a Women in Film and TV Membership, and look forward to engaging with the organisation’s network, fostering new collaborations and acquiring new knowledge and skills.

I’m Katie and I’m a producer working on Observational Documentaries and Current Affairs. Recent credits are Jordan North: The Truth about Vaping, Snus – Hooked on Nicotine: UNTOLD and The Lakes: Our Life on the Edge.

I am excited to become a member of the Women in Film and TV, and to have access to the training and networking events led by women in the industry.

Karol Iwan

Sound Recordist Trainee

I am Karol Iwan, a passionate and detail-oriented professional with a background in documentary filmmaking and sound production. With experience in both creative and logistical roles, including my work on the award-nominated “54 Years in Byker”, co-founding a film queer collective Disobedient Crows, and as a Sound and Production Trainee at the European Parliament, I am committed to creating impactful narratives that promote social justice and inclusivity. I hope to gain valuable mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities through Women in Film & TV, and contribute my unique perspective to this dynamic community.

I am a personal and independent filmmaker and I recently graduated from the University of Salford with a degree in Film Production. As a Women in Film and TV member, I hope to develop my skills within the industry and collaborate with other filmmakers that share a passion for creating meaningful and impactful films.

I’m Laura Moscrop, a freelance camera assistant/trainee based in Northumberland. I am thrilled to have been selected to receive a Women in Film and TV Membership from North East Screen. I look forward to becoming a part of the WFTV community to be able to expand my network and experience within the film and TV industry. I hope to connect and learn from other women within the camera department as well as meet others from other departments. I also look forward to participating in WFTV events through the membership.

Production Assistant

I’m Rachael and after working in Festivals and Events for 10 years I decided to take a leap of faith into the Screen Industries. My most recent credit is working on 28 Years Later as a Production Assistant.

I am so happy to have been chosen for a Women in Film and TV membership. I am hoping to progress my career by being part of this organisation, and I hope to learn as much as I can from women in the industry and look forward to the new opportunities this might bring. The networking opportunities as well as possible bursaries, are really useful for someone like me who is new to this.

Makeup Trainee

My name is Roos James and I’m a Makeup Trainee, looking to work in TV & Film. I’ve decided to venture back onto this career path after working predominantly in Fashion, and I’m already feeling so hopeful for what the future may bring. the WFTV events have shown me a truly inspiring community of women throughout the industry, and it feels very encouraging to be a part of it. I’m excited to be a part of the WFTV as a member, and to understand more about our industry and what may be in store.

Screenwriter

I am an actor and screenwriter from the North East with over 15 years of experience performing on stage and screen. Currently, I have a TV show in development with Channel 4, and I’m working on my first feature film, my first novel and a book adaptation. As a working-class parent of two, this opportunity comes at a crucial time as I take the next steps towards building a successful and enduring writing career. I am incredibly grateful to North East Screen for this offer and I look forward to accessing the many benefits of WFTV membership.

After more than 7 years of production experience in the Middle East, I moved to the UK where I’ve continued working on international productions for both UK and overseas-based production houses. Kerry Ward

Sound Trainee

Kerry Ward is a Sound Trainee who studied Film and TV production at Northumbria University. She has worked on a number of productions, from short films and music videos to long running TV drama Vera. She was also a Locations Marshal on Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny when it filmed in the region

Bridget Deane

Writer

Bridget is a dyslexic writer based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne who has worked across television, film, radio & theatre. Currently, Bridget has been commissioned to develop an original returning drama for ITV Studios / Patrick Spence Productions and has a number of drama and comedy projects in development.

Before becoming a writer, Bridget worked for ten years as a BAFTA award-winning producer/director on primetime documentaries, both in the UK and USA.
