Frame Your Future is a Connected Campus event bringing together university students from Durham, Newcastle, Northumbria, Sunderland and Teesside Universities to explore careers in screen production.
Through a series of workshops, talks and creative challenges, students will gain hands-on experience across digital content creation, scripted and unscripted production, and the practical skills needed to work in film and television.
What the day covers

Create Your Frame: High Impact Content Creation – Content creator Laura Fulgenzi shares her creative process and practical techniques for producing high-impact short-form content. Supported by North East Screen, Laura will also launch a 48-hour content challenge with a prize for the winning video.

Location, Location, Action: Scouting for Scripted Film and TV – Location Managers Joe Wearing and Stuart Wharton discuss how they find and manage filming locations, guiding students through real-world paperwork, permissions and on-set logistics.

From Concept to Commission: Pitching for Unscripted TV – Documentary maker Helen Waddell shares her journey from winning Channel 4’s First Pitch competition to having her first feature documentary commissioned, offering insight into developing and pitching factual projects.
The event concludes with networking, giving students a chance to connect directly with industry professionals.
