BBC Comedy is hosting an event with our Screen Alliance North partners, Screen Yorkshire, on the 13th of November at the Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle. Members of North East Screen and the Female Pilot Club will be in attendance to help facilitate an afternoon of networking, inspiration, and opportunity. This is a chance to meet fellow comedy writers, directors, and producers while chatting with industry gatekeepers in a relaxed, supportive environment.

What to Expect:

  • –    Industry Insight: Gain valuable advice from our panel, including Julia McKenzie (Comedy and Entertainment Commissioner at BBC Radio 4), Hannah Rose (BBC Senior Acquisitions Manager and Comedy Producer), Chess Tomlinson (Emerging Comedy Writer & Performer), and Jason Cook (Award-winning Stand-up, Actor, Screenwriter, and Executive Producer at Schnoobert Productions).
  • –    Pitch Your Script: In partnership with the Female Pilot Club, we’re offering a free script pitch and feedback workshop—your chance to share your work and get constructive insights from industry professionals.
  • –    Networking Opportunities: Build connections with fellow writers and industry insiders. Exchange ideas, share experiences, and develop lasting relationships.
